TO MY GRANDPARENTS
Graphite Illustrations I Senior Studio Art Showcase
For my senior showcase project as a Studio Art major, To My Grandparents, I created a series of six graphite drawings honoring my grandparents, particularly my late grandfather. The project explores themes of nostalgia and familial love, focusing on memories and the emotional depth of family bonds.
Each drawing depicts rooms and objects from their home, reflecting specific memories and the pain of loss. Drawing inspiration from 19th-century Realism and still-life art, I used one-point and two-point perspective to bring the scenes to life, with the pieces measuring 15” x 22” and 30” x 22”.

During my time at Furman, I also took an oil painting class where I explored different tonal values, often depicting ordinary, everyday objects. Additionally, I used my artwork to raise awareness about deforestation and its impact on our environment, aligning with a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

All of the pieces featured are from my undergraduate years, spanning from 2021 to 2023.
